MIT教授莫尼茲接任美能源部長

麻省理工學院核子物理學家莫尼茲（Ernest Moniz）接掌美國能源部的人事案，16日獲參院無異議通過。

現年68的莫尼茲被提名為能源部長的人事案獲得參院97票全數同意，上任後將首先評估是否開放天然氣出口的政策。

莫尼茲上個月在參院能源委員會作證時，十分肯定美國開發天然氣的進展，但未對出口天然氣表達立場。

莫尼茲主持麻省理工學院（MIT）能源計畫期間，曾主導一項研究計畫，主張美國不應對外銷天然氣設限，而且全球化的天然氣市場能促進美國利益。
