在微軟於Build 2013開發者大會第二天的主題演講中，正式宣佈將與Unity簽署合作協議，未來將能使遊戲開發者針對Xbox One、Windows Phone 8，甚至Windows Store等平台，透過Unity遊戲引擎設計遊戲應用內容。

繼先前完成與甲骨文 (Oracle)完成雙方技術授權簽署，微軟此次在Build 2013開發者大會上也宣布將與Unity簽署合作協議 (同時，Unity方面也透過官方部落格說明此項合作)，未來將可讓開發者針對Xbox One、Windows Phone 8或Windows Store平台以Unity遊戲引擎設計遊戲、廣告或其他應用內容。

針對與微軟Xbox One平台合作部分，其中也包含將能使以Inity遊戲引擎打造內容相容新款Kinect手勢、語音等識別功能，或者是支援SmartGlass與雲端整合應用等。

而基於此次雙方合作，未來基於Unity遊戲引擎製作的遊戲內容也將能輕易迅速地移植到微軟Xbox One、Windows Phone等平台使用。
