美國前財長桑默斯放棄角逐聯準會主席，市場解讀量化寬鬆政策將由鴿派主導，對股債市是一大利多，激勵美股道瓊期指一度大漲180點，美元也應聲重貶，亞幣今早幾乎全面走高，新台幣兌美元一度大漲2角之多，人民幣兌美元中間匯率再次刷新2005年7月以來的匯改新高，一舉來到6.1554元，升值0.24分，韓元、日圓也都上漲，新台幣兌美元匯價中午暫收29.66元，升值1.82角，成交金額5.28億美元。

新台幣美美元匯率上午以29.81元跳空升值3.2分開出後，台幣一度衝上29.63元今日最高，強升2.12角，創今年6月7日29.616元以來的盤中新高。人民幣依照上午中國外匯交易中心最新數據公布，兌美元匯率中間價一度上探6.1554元，較前一交易日升值0.24分，亦再創匯改新高。日本因為敬老節休市一天，但國際盤中日圓已反映美元走弱趨勢，一度升破99大關，來到98.43日圓。韓元早盤亦一度強升至1082韓元，升幅達到0.26%。
